Harmonic Shades according to Leonardo da Vinci for the colour-individual cementing of modern all-ceramics – hypoallergenic and sustainable – for masterful colour compositions.
AREAS of APPLICATION
- Definitive, aesthetic cementation of full ceramic restorations for chairside colour adjustments of translucent crowns and bridges.
- Dentin replacement / customised lining
- Semi-permanent aesthetic filling – customised for each patient, especially for allergy sufferers
COLOUR-SPECIFIC CEMENTATION
The high-performance zirconium oxide and lithium disilicate ceramics used in dentistry are often the material of choice to fulfil the desire of many patients for white restorations. However, differently coloured tooth stumps, metallic posts or implant abutments can impair the overall aesthetic result. Here, zinc phosphate cement has a decisive advantage – its opacity ensures an even base covering and makes the translucent ceramics appear more even. -Time for a renaissance of classic phosphate cement.
Hoffmann’s Harmonic Shades acc. to Leonardo allows the colour effect of the restoration to be modified directly at the chairside. Leonardo Harmonic Shades are a cement set based on Hoffmann’s Original Phosphatcement formulation. The shades are created from a base colour and four shades from the Renaissance colour palette in a dynamic range between yellow, green, blue and red.
The cement colours are blended individually thus enabling a perfect aesthetic match. With the aid of the test fluid included in the set, the optimum colour effect can be tested before final cementation of the crown or bridge. – If necessary, the result can be confirmed with the help of a digital tooth shade determination device. Colour determination using spectrophotometer technology is particularly helpful in sensitive areas such as anterior restorations.
IMITATION OF THE VITAL PULP
Cementing translucent crowns and bridges with a pink-coloured cement is known as the pink trick. With this pink trick alone, pulp-dead teeth, whose grey tooth stumps spoil the overall impression of the restoration, are given a lively appearance, similar to a pulp that is supplied with blood.
ADVANTAGES of classic cementation
1. low allergy potential and high biocompatibility
- purely inorganic chemistry
- mineral food colours
- free of monomers, bisphenol A et al.
2. Hoffmann’s optimised granulometry ensures
- low film thickness for high accuracy of fit
- Permanently stable micromechanical adhesion
3. sustainability
- 100% colourfast
- no nanoparticles
- produced in Berlin
4. economic efficiency
- Colour correction without opaquer and without without sending the restauration back to the laboratory
- LeonardSet is sufficient for approx. 100 restorations
5. usability
- relatively insensitive to moisture/ no rubber dam
- No etching/conditioning of the tooth surface or restoration
- Simple excess removal
Good to know: Should a revision of the root canal treatment or the implant be necessary, the restoration cemented with phosphate cement can be removed with the aid of special tools and ultrasound in a minimally invasive procedure. (No trepanning!)
